When she was a kid she was able to develop a passion for sports, and she decided to start playing golf. As time passed, she gained more knowledge. As a highschool student, she won 8 tournaments. During her days as the captain of Mable Falls high school golf team, Garcia took her team to 3rd position in the 2003 regional event, which they then finished as sixth place in 2006. It is no doubt that the lady is a skilled golfer. In the past, she has won more than 17 gold medals, including at the National stage. Garcia is also a member in the Women's Texas Golf Association. After high school, Garcia attended Texas Christain University for several years and then transferred to the University of Texas. While at the university she was given the chance to compete on a greater scale and her skills grew as time went by. Angela Akin Garcia was a excellent golfer, but she never imagined pursuing a career in golf. She chose to pursue journalism instead. Following her graduation in journalism, she was hired in Fox Sports Southwest as a journalist.
